Job Description

The Deputy Program Manager will provide support in the execution of various space related programs. Responsibilities may include assisting in the development of status reports and other CDRLs, scheduling work and travel, developing work plans, monitoring program expenditures, tracking and coordinating updates for clearances, certifications and training, maintaining the status of engineering tasks in JIRA, and facilitating communications with internal and external project stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic that works well in a highly collaborative environment and demonstrates excellent communication skills.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Finance or another business related discipline with less than 5 years of experience in project management
Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organizational and communication skills
Must be creative, flexible and willing to work with constantly changing priorities
Possess a high level of computer literacy and the technical aptitude to learn new tools quickly

This position requires the selected candidate to obtain or hold an active Department of Defense security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Desired Skills

Familiarization with U.S. Government contracting regulations and protocols
Familiarity in DoD Space Operations or DoD Space related programs
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Experience in project planning, budget forecasting and cost/rate structures
